Video tagging rules and tips

Make sure your titles, categories and keywords are accurate, so we can match your video with the right client. We recommend you follow these best practices to maximize your sales.

  • With the title describe in an objective and detailed way the action happening in the video.
  • The title and keywords should answer the questions what?, when?, where? and who?
  • If possible use English to increase international visibility.
  • Describe the people, actors or models in the scene in terms of gender, age, profession, ethnicity, clothes.
  • For animals and plants describe their class, species, age, gender, color.
  • Describe the place you are in, focusing only on what is visible in the video.
  • Add keywords for feelings, emotions and sensations.
  • Describe shooting techniques and use keywords to describe camera movements, shooting angles, equipment and accessories used.
  • When shooting details close up describe body parts, materials, textures and colors.
  • For outdoor videos describe with keywords when relevant the time of day, seasons, temperature and weather conditions.
  • Use keywords with multiple words to be more specific when possible.
  • You can upload collection on our desktop website in bulk but make sure you then adjust each video with its unique information.
  • Videos without titles or with generic titles such as untitled, latest, mixed, collection, dates or with the filmmaker's brand, name or website will be unpublished.
  • Do not use inappropriate or offensive titles or keywords.
  • Be careful with spelling mistakes.
  • Don't spam irrelevant categories and keywords, we review the tagging frequently and will unpublish infringing videos.
  • Don't publish your video before reviewing automatic keywords and category suggestions.
  • Avoid adding categories and keywords in contradiction.
  • Avoid using # on your keywords unless they are the hashtag for a specific active request you want to submit your video to.
  • Get ideas for tagging from other videos but don't copy them.
